The Sonoran Sun West Fountain during sunset is one of those easy “chillax” spots. You know what I mean by that, right? It is a street or slang term for saying it is a place to chill out and relax. However, because I am apparently too old to reside in Coolville, Mexico, “chillax” may very well be a term only used on old, side streets these days. lol
Lonely Fountain at Sunset
Chances are you may be familiar with our beautiful Sonoran Sun Resort on Sandy Beach in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, Mexico. It sits at the top of the Sea of Cortez, also known as the Gulf of California. And you had better be familiar with the fact that the sun sets in the west each evening. You put these two elements together and you have ideal conditions if you are a sunset lover like I am. Sometimes, the colorful skies of Rocky Point sunsets are amazing, breathtaking, or whatever you want to call them.
Last night? Well, it was one of those nights by the Sonoran Sun West Fountain. Let me explain.
There is always something, right. I was later than I initially hoped driving from Arizona to Puerto Peñasco yesterday. It was another of those races against time. And certainly not my first time thinking, “I sure hope I get there to see the sunset show!” Fortunately, and safely, I did.
As a self-certified, sunset watching aficionado, I can tell you finding a place to watch the sunset at the Sonoran Sun Resort is not an issue. The challenge is choosing which spot you want to do it. So, on Monday, January 13, 2025, I chose to be on the west side of the pool area. As I walking by the west fountain, I looked around. No one else was in sight. The choice was made. I would not leave the fountain lonely.

Sonoran Sun Fountain Sounds
Granted, some people process things visually, especially those who love sunsets. Meanwhile, other people pay closer attention to the sounds around them. This particular moment at the Sonoran Sun West Fountain, we all could have been happy.
The sky was orange. The only pleasant sounds were soothing on steroids (if there is such a thing). I couldn’t help but enjoy listening to the water trickling from the fountain. This alone was more than enough. But after a few seconds, my senses began to add the sounds of the nearby surf. There were not big waves, however it was certainly enough to hear what the sea was up to in the moment.
But enough of this talk. Please, enjoy the video I made of this magical moment. And keep Sonoran Sun Direct in mind should you want to book a condo rental to experience a stress-free escape for yourself and maybe that special someone.
