Freddy Krueger has no tricks up his sleeve in Mexico today on the last day of October. Nevertheless, you might have to brace yourself for the Sonoran Sun Spooky Halloween 2024 festivities.
Naturally, there may be a Nightmare on Elm Street far away tonight. But meanwhile, here in Rocky Point Mexico, it is more like “silent night” in the daytime hours. That is because strangely, our beachfront resort seems deserted. There is no loud partying. No sounds of jet ski engines zipping across the calm Sea of Cortez with tourists hoping to hold on for dear life. The sights and sounds of tequila are not in the air at the Sonoran Sun Resort swim-up bar. Even the zombies around town are nowhere to be found.
Is it a Trick or Treat?
The atmosphere is eerily quiet for such a beautiful day and a holiday. And it has been that way all day. I should know because I was out all alone in the cool morning fall air in plenty of time to catch the 6:50 a.m. sunrise. You too can see in the photo below.
One could easily call the Sonoran Sun Spooky Halloween 2024 a lull in the action. This is because tomorrow is a big day in Mexico. Dia de los Muertes is “The Day of the Dead.” It is a major traditional holiday where families and friends gather to honor and celebrate the souls of loved ones who have passed away. And the 2024 Rocky Point Rally rolls into the spotlight next weekend. All along the malecon and most of the streets in Puerto Peñasco will be anything but quiet with motorcycles riding all over town.
