The Sonoran Sun was built in 2005. It became the third property developed by Sonoran Resorts in Rocky Point. Before were the Sonoran Sea and Sonoran Spa. Sonoran Sky was done after. When you rent Sonoran Sun condos, you get the most square footage and living space .

There are no limited or obstructed views. You will never be stuck looking at brick wall or counting cars in the parking lot.
Two towers with 10 floors of condominiums feature full-length sliding glass doors and private balconies facing the Sea of Cortez. (Also known as the Gulf of California). To be crystal clear like many of the days and nights, staying at the Sonoran Sun promises no obstructed views.
From every Sonoran Sun Condo, a look to the left is the morning sun rise in the east. And to the right facing west, is the sunsets.

Pool Area
Three large pools are featured on the seaside of the property. The east side pool is heated for quite comfortable use during the off-season months.
Hot tubs or jacuzzis are located on both ends of the pool area. One is reserved for adults. The other is for families with kids to enjoy.
A popular gathering place is the covered pool bar. It features the joys of swim up bar option with seating on both sides. Friendly bartenders serve cold beer and plenty of your favorite cocktail concoctions. In addition, there is a menu of both Mexican and American style food choices.
Architecture
Behind the beach and pools, the buildings at the Sonoran Sun Resort were done with a Spanish Colonial style. In the middle of the resort is a beautiful open courtyard area known as the zocalo. It runs from the parking lots to the pool area. Here you will find Emiliano’s Restaurant, a spa, convenience store, a complete gym, and a lobby area for guest services.
Sonoran Sun: Closest to Sandy Beach
There are 228 condominiums at the resort. For condo rentals, you can choose from one-bedroom to five-bedroom units with private bathrooms. Every condo has granite countertops, a kitchen, laundry area, TV, and Wifi. The decor and other custom characteristics and amenities are unique to each individual condo owner.
The Sonoran Sun Resort is the closest to the sea. It is about as beachfront as you can get. Other properties labeled as “beachfront” are set back away from the beach. This leaves you with disappointment and a walk. Meanwhile, the Sun sits literally right by Sandy Beach and the water’s edge of the Sea of Cortez.

You can hear the soothing sounds of the surf from many balconies and even inside condos. This is especially at times of high tide.
Another key factor involving sounds in Puerto Peñasco is the location of the Sonoran Sun. Luckily for you, it offers both quiet and convenience. The resort is a couple miles to the west of the downtown area known as El Malecón. Unlike staying at other resorts, you need not worry about noise which can last into the wee hours.
However, if you want to experience the noise and nightlife, you are only a 5-to-10-minute drive to get there. It’s all good. Basically, staying at the Sun means you will be near the action. But also, far enough away. Many view this as a best of both worlds’ scenario.
