First and foremost, thank you for interest in the popular Sonoran Sun Resort in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, Mexico. And thank you for booking your beachfront condo reservation through Sonoran Sun Direct.
These Terms and Conditions listed here below are prepared as part of our effort to “Let the Sunshine in!” This information freely shared is designed to help. There is no hiding things in “fine print.”
Check-in. Chill out:
The standard check-in time to enter your reserved condo is 4:00 p.m. We will of course strive to get you in earlier when possible.
There is also limited availability of requesting an upgrade to a guaranteed early check-in of no later than 2:00 p.m. An added fee of $25 is applied for this service.
Check-out:
Check out is 11:00 AM. This must be strictly enforced in order to ensure prompt and courteous service to other guests.
And there is limited availability of requesting an upgrade to a late checkout until 1:00 p.m. These requests can only be determined and possibly authorized the day before your scheduled check-out time. An added fee of $25 is also applied for this service.
Missing or Late at Check-out:
In the rare event a condo rental guest and/or their belongings are not checked out when the scheduled cleaning crew arrives, we reserve the following rights. The right to lock the condo. The right to gather the guest’s belongings and place them into storage. A $25 USD per hour fee is charged to the guest under these circumstances on a pro-rated basis. Should the guest not leave the resort with their belongings by 2:00 p.m. on their scheduled day to check-out, an extra night at the scheduled condo rate will be charged to the guest’s credit card on file.
Occupancy:
Each size condo at the Sonoran Sun Resort has designed rules regarding the number of guests. Your reservation will confirm this information.
- A 1-bedroom condo with a pull-out bed or sofa sleeper may be reserved for up to 2 adult guests along with 2 children 12 and under.
- A 2-bedroom condo with a pull-out bed or sofa sleeper may be reserved for up to 4 adult guests along with 2 children 12 and under.
- A 3-bedroom condo with a pull-out bed or sofa sleeper may be reserved for up to 6 adult guests along with 2 children 12 and under.
- A 5-bedroom condo with a pull-out bed or sofa sleeper may be reserved for up to 10 adult guests along with 2 children 12 and under.
** 1 or 2 extra adults instead of children will be allowed in most condo rentals for an additional charge. **
Any efforts to have extra guests stay in your condo beyond the above limits will result in either a cancellation of your reservation and forfeiture of your damage deposit…or we can book your group in an additional condo if there is availability.
- NO PETS.
No pets of any kind are allowed by guests renting condos at the Sonoran Sun Resort. Any efforts to bring an animal into the resort or condo will result in immediate cancellation of the reservation. No refund or rebooking will be available.
Resort and Rental Rules and Regulations
The Sonoran Sun Resort and its HOA have certain rules and regulations which must be followed by condo rental guests. Non-compliance with these can result in immediate termination of your confirmed reservation.

- Every person making a condo rental reservation must be at least 25 years of age, and able to prove it upon check-in by showing a valid government issued ID, either a passport or driver’s license.
- All rental guests agree to wear a wristband provided upon check-in. It must be worn throughout the length of your stay. This is for the benefit of the resort staff to ensure the safety and protection of all guests and the property.
- Parking is provided by the resort. Traffic signs and lanes must be honored. All vehicles must use only the designated parking areas. The parking lots are monitored by the security team. However, we are not responsible for damage to the vehicle or items which are left inside of them.
- Guests must do a thorough review of condo unit upon entering. If there is something broken, damaged, or concerning in your rental condo unit, you must notify us within 30 minutes.
- Guests must not redecorate the condo or move or rearrange the furniture. All condo items and avoid taking any items out of the condo. Missing or lost items will be charged to you.
- No BBQ grills are permitted for condo renters. This includes inside condos or outside on the balcony. For your convenience and safety, the resort provides a large grill by the walls of the east and west towers.
- Do not leave trash or garbage in the hallways or at the elevators. Dumpsters are in the designated trash area by the walls on the east and west towers.
- The Sonoran Sun Resort and Sonoran Sun Direct are not responsible for any personal items a guest may leave in the course of condo rentals. However, we will and do make our best effort to assist and secure personal items after check-out.
- Bath towels provided with your condo rental are not to be removed. Please bring your own beach towels for use at the pool or beach.
- No towels or clothing items may be hung or draped over the railings of condo balconies.
- Children in the pool and hot tub area must be supervised by an adult staying with them. There are no lifeguards on duty.
- Children are not permitted to use the gym facilities.
- Swimsuits must be worn in the pools and hot tubs. No nudity or street clothes are permitted in the pools and hot tubs.
- Small coolers are allowed in the pool area. However, no glass containers of any kind are permitted for safety reasons.
- Personal Conduct:
- No items prohibited by Mexico law are allowed in condos or on resort property. This includes fireworks, firearms and other weapons, drugs, etc.
- No Smoking is permitted, not inside any condo or on the balcony, not anywhere inside or outside on the resort property. This No Smoking mandate applies to cigarettes, cigars, marijuana, and vaping.
- Music, TVs, or other noise should not be so loud as to disturb other guests.
- Visitors are permitted by security to visit guests in rented condos but only between 9:00 a.m. and 9:45 p.m. No exceptions. Visitors are not permitted to use any resort common areas or facilities such as the pool, gym, or grill.
- Be respectful or be gone. The Sonoran Sun Resort and Sonoran Sun Direct will not tolerate any violations of basic decency and respect toward any person whether they be staff or guest. No one should feel intimidated or threatened either verbally or physically. No intentional damage to anyone’s personal property or resort property is permitted. No harassment or any kind of abuse to another is acceptable. Any such behavior whether alcohol induced or not will not be tolerated. Police may be called in all such matters violators will be immediately removed from the property.
