Maybe I am biased when it comes to sunsets. Check that. I know I am. I love sunsets. However, that does not mean what I am about to share about a certain August Sunday sunset didn’t happen. I know it did because I was there. And it was just last night on Sandy Beach in Rocky Point Mexico.
Chances are it may not be the special moment I experienced. That is because after all, you are only reading about it. Nonetheless, I will do my best to describe it.
Sonoran Sun Resort
Full disclosure. I am also biased when it comes to the Sonoran Sun Rocky Point location. There is so much to love about being at the beachfront slice of paradise. It is a really good place to have no bad days.
The Sonoran Sun Resort is the closest to the sand and sea. It practically sits on Sandy Beach. Even better is the fact that every Sonoran Sun condo you rent provides up close and personal unobstructed views. When the tide is high, you can often hear the soothing sounds of the surf while you are hanging out on your balcony.
One of those things is the daily sun show which takes place over the Sea of Cortez. From left to right and east to west, the sun makes its way across the stage. The show begins with the sunrise and ends with the sunset. And last evening’s August Sunday sunset served as a reminder. Just because you’ve seen the show before, doesn’t mean it isn’t different and worthwhile every single time.
August Sunday in Puerto Peñasco
Weatherwise, it was like many summer days here. August 4, 2024 in Puerto Peñasco was mostly sunny. The heat was on with temperatures and humidity over 90%. Still, 10 to 15 degrees cooler than the nearby Phoenix and Tucson metropolitan areas.
At 7:00 p.m. I left my Sonoran Sun 510 East condo for Sandy Beach. There were still good seats available for this August Sunday sunset show. A delicious breeze cooled the air as I hoped to add more good photos to my ever-expanding collection.
Beauty-filled opportunities were everywhere. However, the beach was busy with probably 100 people in front of the Sonoran Sun. You don’t see many in the photos here because I was trying to avoid them! I’d compose a photo but have to wait because people walked by. There were couples in love, teenage girls taking selfies, and three generations of families making memories with little ones. All that was magic. A great overall snapshot for Puerto Peñasco tourism.
August in Rocky Point is Far from Awful
If you believed half of what you heard on the internet (especially Facebook), you might steer clear of Rocky Point in August. Yes, it is hot. But the weather is hot in all the primary places which bring visitors to the beach year-round. This just into the newsroom.
It’s because we are in “summer!”
You could not experience the magic of last night’s August Sunday sunset sitting at home with your air conditioning and television. Puerto Peñasco also has those amenities. But from Arizona to El Paso, Texas, those places don’t have the Sonoran Sun Resort, Sandy Beach, or the sea and its views.
