It’s official. You’re invited. The 2024 Puerto Peñasco Government Inauguration ceremony is open to the public. The festivities will be held at the Puerto Peñasco Convention Center on September 16, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
It might be worth checking out this political and community event if you are in town. This is especially if you own a beachfront condo or have other business or personal interests in Rocky Point Mexico.
At the very least, it might be interesting to see how the new municipal administration takes over. It is a different process in Mexico than in the United States. However, that’s not the only reason to attend. The 2024 Puerto Peñasco Government Inauguration will feel new for even the residents of Rocky Point.

If you rent a Sonoran Sun condo, you know. Just spend a minute on beautiful Sandy Beach. You will quickly see not all waves are the same. Some are gentle. Others are rough. The sea’s waves vary in size, width, length and strength.
Meanwhile, such an analogy can be applied to Mexico’s politics and politicians. The biggest wave in decades has come with the popularity of the Moreno Party. Moreno Party Puerto Peñasco Mayor
Since 2015, the Munro-Pivac Family has been like its own political party in Rocky Point. This is because family members Kiko Munro followed by Jorge Pivac have served as mayors.
On September 26, 2024, Dr. Oscar Eduardo Castro Castro will officially become the next mayor. That’s because he was able to ride the Moreno Party wave to defeat Jorge Pivac’s sister and other in the election. The former general surgeon will now operate as president of the municipality.
However, the 2024 Puerto Peñasco Government Inauguration means more than the mayor. That is because the new leader brings in an all-new team to see what they can accomplish as an administration over the next 3 years.
