Hopefully, this strikes you as a bit of positive news. The Rocky Point Bowling Alley is now reality. If you are up for swapping out your flip flops for bowling shoes, you are now in luck. Following the June 20, 2024, official grand opening, Diamond Lanes is now open 7 days a week. It brings our tourism destination a new atmosphere of indoor fun and entertainment.
Diamond Lanes is the first of its kind in Puerto Peñasco. The new business is located in the commercial area of town known as El Mirador. This is in the southeast section of the city near Manny’s Beach Club, and not far from the local government municipal complex.
Bowling by the Beach
Diamond Lanes has four lanes for bowling. No doubt this is on the small side when comparing it to many bowling facilities in the United States. However, a successful Rocky Point bowling alley won’t need to be as big considering it is in a small Mexican seaside resort town. Each of the 4 lanes comes with modern screens for keeping score.
If you are staying at the Sonoran Sun Resort on Sandy Beach, you will find it will only be about a 10-minute drive.
Bowling and Entertainment
Diamond Lanes offers a mix as the first Rocky Point bowling alley. From the bowling perspective, it provides a new option for indoor family fun. However, because of added amenities, it could also be a place for kids and teens to hang out.
Aside from the 4 lanes, it also features a food area, and a snack area. There is more space set aside for billiards (pool tables) as well as for playing arcade games. The variety of options is why there is excitement for this welcomed addition to the sports and recreation activities available for both local residents and visiting tourists.
A liquor license, along with a fully stocked bar sets up nicely for adults, too. The late-night hours also open up possibilities for the facility to become a popular drinking establishment.
One other important factor is not to be overlooked. Diamond Lanes has the luxury of a large, private parking lot for its customers. This is really a valid selling point for people to try the new business because the El Mirador section of town is rather congested. Parking in much of this area isn’t what you would call “great.”
Puerto Peñasco Weather Alternative
Puerto Peñasco thrives as an affordable and convenient beach getaway destination. And the conditions are ideal for it because the monthly weather forecast usually features sunny skies over 90% of the time. However, that is only looking at one side of the equation.
Diamond Lanes could have a chance at continued success since it is open afternoons and evenings. It could be an alternative to heat during the day. And for evening family fun, it could be right up the alley of many.
Here is one piece of advice. If you are looking for something to do on those rare cloudy and even more rare rainy days, you might expect Diamond Lanes to be crowded. After all, it is the first and only Rocky Point bowling alley. We wish them all the best.
