“Better to have it and not need it. Then need it and not have it.” Here I will apply this saying to the Sonoran Sun gym. However normally, it is a practical concept I try to get my son to consider.
Naturally, only you decide if you want or need the Sonoran Sun gym during your stays at the resort. After all, you are on vacation, or at least an escape from the rat race known as life. Maybe you also need a break from your exercise or fitness routine.
There is nothing wrong with choosing the beach over the bench press, or tacos and tequila instead of the treadmill. We’re just sayin…
Sonoran Sun Gym Location
In real estate, location is everything. But working out at gyms most of my life, I have discovered a gym’s location is a top priority, too.
Case in point.
Puerto Peñasco has a handful of public alternatives to the Sonoran Sun gym. It is possible one may have more of something you prefer. But no doubt all will cost money while our gym is free. More importantly, they take more of the most precious commodity you have visiting Rocky Point: time. Most likely, at least 20 minutes of total travel time.
We know what could happen if the Sonoran Sun gym was even slightly out of the way. That could easily be the only excuse you or anyone would need to blow off working out. Yet, such a scenario is not in play because the gym is smack in the middle of the resort. You will find it on the west side of the main zocalo area.
Fitness Center Equipment
A crowded gym or fitness center can also be a hassle. You generally will not find more than a few people at any given time at the Sonoran Sun gym. In fact, I am often the only person working out when I go.
So, the thought of having to wait to use the LifeFitness brand equipment you want is highly unlikely. Remember, those who work out are on holiday at the Sonoran Sun Resort. And those who do not workout are on extended holiday from the gym.
Cardio
Our cardio equipment features the quality, LifeFitness brand. You have your choice of the following:
2 seated stationary bikes
2 ellipticals
4 treadmills
Weights
In free weights, you have a selection of dumbbells ranging up to 50 pounds officially. However, one of the Sonoran Sun condo owners resembles “The Hulk” (without the green of course). He brought in a set of 65-pound dumbbells and left them for when he works out at the resort.
The Sonoran Sun gym offers many weightlifting options. There are machines to work your chest, shoulders, back, legs, and abdominal muscles.
Other Gym Amenities
The Sonoran Sun fitness center has 2 mounted TVs for those who need something to watch while doing cardio exercise. The place also features heat in winter and air conditioning in the warmer weather. And there is a ladies’ room and men’s room.
All this information is either great reasons to use the Sonoran Sun gym or avoid it. You’re at the beach. You make the call. No pressure. And no guilt. Eat, drink, lounge, and be merry. As always, this Rocky Point Mexico resort is a happy place.
